We partnered with strategic partner, Neuberger Berman to create a green oasis in the middle of the concrete jungle. Employee volunteers worked collaboratively with our PowerPlay girls at Great Oaks Charter School, to erect a miniature garden on the rooftop deck of the school. The groups planted a variety of plants, including flowers, fruits and vegetables.
The girls also demonstrated their leadership skills by leading the volunteers through a series of icebreakers and fun games. We went back to visit a month later and were pleased to see a thriving green space that both students and faculty could utilize when they needed a break from city living.
