The Volunteer Specialist will assist and supplement the work done by our staff in planning and implementing programs, working with program participants, planning and executing special events, workshops, tours, sports tournaments and clinics, as well as supporting fundraising. Through a formalized volunteer engagement effort, the goals are to grow our volunteer initiatives, increase the number of opportunities available to volunteers, increase volunteer and alumnae engagement and increase the number of volunteers serving PowerPlay. This will enable us to offer more robust programming opportunities to the 1,100 program participants we serve that are from low-income communities in NYC.

Reestablish and systemize volunteer management to support volunteer recruitment, training and retention, as well as to track outcomes and impact.
Establish 1) a PowerPlay alumni volunteer network, 2) a STARS CGI Alumni volunteer network, and 3) an external volunteer network.
