This year marked the 6th Annual STARS CGI Youth Town Hall, and it was our most impactful event yet! With the theme “Self-Care to Community-Care: WE Got US!”, the event brought together over 85 young leaders from across the STARS CGI community to explore the power of collective action and celebrate youth leadership in building compassionate and supportive communities.
The event opened with warm and inspiring remarks from special guest speaker Katie Loeb, Chief of Staff to NYC Council Member Carlina Rivera. This was followed by an empowering panel featuring Linda Tigani, Executive Director of the Commission on Racial Equity, who reminded us of the transformative power of our voices as agents of change.
In student-led breakout sessions, our young people tackled big topics like Mental Health, Food Equity, Advocacy for Heritage & Culture, and Youth Voice & Choice. Their passion left us all inspired to think boldly about sustainable solutions.
