On Monday, June 7, 2021, PowerPlay hosted a Golf Tournament at the beautiful Nassau Country Club. Out in the fresh air everyone enjoyed a competitive day on the links. Our PowerPlay girls enjoyed a private group lesson with a professional golf player, Christy Jurgens, learning various golf skills such as putting and driving. The tournament was proceeded by an outdoor Cocktail Reception, which provided an opportunity for guests to dine, unwind, and mingle with one another, as well as with PowerPlay participants and staff.
We are so thankful for all of our 2021 sponsors and supporters, including our Co-Chairs, Madelyn Lando and Paul Aversano, and Committee members. Through the generous donations of over 100 guests and other supporters, PowerPlay surpassed its fundraising goal, raising over $250,000 in support of our sports and social-emotional learning-based programs. Our girls also walked away with new golf and other athletic gear, thanks to the winners of the day donating their proceeds back directly to PowerPlay participants.
