Our SSLA girls had an incredible experience participating in a soccer clinic led by professional soccer player Shyla Murray! Representing her home’s national team, the Guyana Lady Jaguars, Shyla and a few of her friends guided our girls through an exciting afternoon of fun and strategic soccer drills.
The session covered fundamental skills like dribbling, passing, and trapping, while also challenging the girls with high energy team-building relay games. Their time on the field ended with a friendly scrimmage, where the girls had the chance to put their newfound skills to the test.
During lunch, Shyla and her colleagues sat down with the girls to share insights about playing soccer at the collegiate level and transitioning to national teams. They emphasized the importance of maintaining balance as student-athletes, leaving the girls inspired and motivated.
