Joneé Billy

Director, Strategic Partnerships and External Affairs

Joneé Billy is a thought Leader and community builder with a dedication and passion for advancing equity in marginalized groups, including communities of color, girls/women and LGBTQ+ people through sports. With over 12 years of experience in the nonprofit and public sectors, has amassed a diverse skill set which includes, programmatic design, partnership cultivation and activation, developing philanthropic strategy, managing multi-million dollar budgets and large grant portfolios.

EXPERIENCE
She has expertise in cultivating meaningful relationships with multi-sector partners with the goal of creating sustainable and elevated experiences for the community, as evidenced in partnership opportunities she has led with Fortune-500 companies such as Brooklyn Sports & Entertainment, Deloitte, Madison Square Garden and Nike, resulting in over half a million dollars in corporate sponsorships and in-kind services.

Ms. Billy also serves as a strategic thought partner and advisor for the STARS Citywide Girls Initiative, a collective of ten leading nonprofit organizations with a mission of empowering girls of color through diverse programming across the arts, sports, literature and activism. She’s fostered a legacy project entitled #SelfCareSaturday, which began as an individual activation with the goal of providing youth with the necessary tools to refill their social emotional cups while educating them on self care practices. This initiative has since evolved into a larger project that fosters civic engagement, advocacy and economic equality.

The transformative power of teamwork, collaboration and partnerships, as evidenced in her work, were developed during her athletic career. Ms. Billy is a multi-sport, high-level athlete, who has been blessed to travel the world, playing sports. She had a professional basketball career in Europe, coupled with a two year stint representing Trinidad & Tobago on the senior women’s national team. She switched sports and had the opportunity to represent the USA University team at the Netball US Open in 2018. A lifelong athlete, she is currently training to compete competitively in the sport of track cycling.
