Being a part of the PowerPlay community has really taught me so much regarding the future. I made so many amazing friends during the 2016 Leadership Academy and I even learned a thing or two about how NOT to burn your kitchen down when cooking. I was able to experience so many things that I never would’ve done on my own, which is beyond amazing, and if I could do it all over again, I would.
It stuns me that I could genuinely tell people that I’ve had the best summer ever. I’ve learned so much – like what to say to highlight my strengths to employers and how to stay physically fit all while maintaining a school-life balance. I’ve met so many inspirational women from our weekly career panels (loved those btw), and I’ve formed friendships with such talented classmates that I know I’ll give a call or two to in the future. Though I’ve had all of these unforgettable experiences and I’ve had the adventure of a lifetime, it was the PowerPlay coaches and staff that really made my experience worthwhile. They were all so attentive and let’s not forget hilarious! They all made sure we understood that we had a companion to confide in as well as a mentor to follow and I absolutely loved their support.
I guess you can say that this was the greatest experience I could’ve ever asked for, and I’ll be sure to keep all of the leaders updated on my latest via LinkedIn. I know that because of my time with the Super STARS Leadership Academy, I’ll be the best darn publicist the world has ever seen! Next year’s leaders have so much to look forward to and I know it will only get better from here!
